Benjamin was abandoned as a baby and found wrapped up in a blanket embodied with the name 'Benjamin' and his day of birth. Until he started showing signs of magic, Benjamin grew up in a 2 separate muggle households. His first muggle foster parents found him 'strange' and didnt want him, his second muggle foster parents didn't deal well with the discovery of his magic (believing he was some kind of demon), but luckily by that time they noticed, Benjamin had already caught the attention of the Ministry of Magic and was quickly removed from the household. Placed in foster care for the 3rd time, this time by a magical family, Benjamin spent 1 1/2 years with them before he went off to Hogwarts (Sorted into Hufflepuff). Benjamin only spent summers at 'home' with his new foster parents (and their several other foster children). The family didn't mistreat him, but they saw taking in magical children as a duty more than anything else, so when Benjamin turned 18 he was expected to move out- and did.
Benjamin moved to London and stayed in the muggle world most of the time, finding muggles often being less judgmental and more open than people in the magical world. He worked as a bartender and hairdresser, only being pulled back into the magical world again after meeting his now close friend and roommate Luella (Ella). Working now part time as a bartender in the muggle world and part time as a hairdresser in the magical world, Benjamin very much has one foot in each camp and is ok with that.
