* Magical beings like wizards and witches do not age like humans do. Their aging mechanism slows down once they have finished growing around age 18 (human and wizarding years). After that, witches/wizards will begin to age quite slowly so that a wizard who is 33 in Muggle years actually looks to be in his early twenties. Birthdays and keeping track of age is a Muggle habit that has made its way somewhat into the Wizarding world. However, most wizards and witches rarely bother with such things as age as it bears no influence on magic abilities after 18.
