Savannah, a tall woman with long dark brown hair with red highlights, sat down on the low dark green suede couch of a fancy coffee shop in Pennyroyal Grove with a sardonic grin as she quickly looked over Zoraida Del Bosque. An old friend from school and an unlikely friend too. They were almost polar opposites on the morality scale, Zora had always been a bit of a goody two shoes compared to Savannah's more bad girl status. Funnily enough, both girls had bonded after hexing each other in the hallways at Hogwarts and having to spend two weeks in detention together, after that, the girls found that they had more in common than they could ever have thought. Since that day, there was a bond between the two women that most did not understand or would not understand. Zora had taken a chance on Savannah and she had never forgot that loyalty and trust.
"So beautiful, tell me what's up…" Savannah said as she put down her expensive handbag and shrugged off her long dark red leather jacket that was somewhere between a cloak and a cape but very fashionable and just suiting Savannah's flamboyant nature. "It's been ages since we've seen each other, more like years actually…" She remarked as she waved over a waiter and ordered herself a drink.
Zora couldn't help but smile at the compliment, while thinking that Savannah never changed, she was still as eloquent, poised and elegant looking as ever. Something Zora herself had admired about her friend when they were younger. Savannah had always seemed to know how to carry herself, even as a teenager. Zora could only guess that this was more something natural, more than learned, part of her character and what made Savannah who she was - an imposing character who could make people uncomfortable or scare them silly.
It has been a while, hasn't it." Zora agreed as the two women fell comfortably into an long long chat about life. Zora filling Savannah in on Jeremiah, collecting magical artifacts and why she had moved back home, confessing that she had a feeling it was all a ruse on her father's part but not being able to disprove his mysterious illnesses either. She suspected he thought it was time for Zora to come home and take over her duties since her brother was not to be trusted to handle the Del Bosque family affairs.
After a while, like most conversations between females do, their conversation circle towards men and relationships. Zora had found out that Savannah had actually gotten married to an older wizard from a rather wealthy family. Something that didn't surprise her. Sannah was always a woman who looked for an opportunity and grabbed onto it when she saw it.
"How about you? Last I heard you were engaged to some guy from Melbourne." Savannah said thinking back to Ted, Zora's ex-fiancé who stood her up a few days before the wedding to go off and find himself.
"Goodness, that was a disaster." Zora admitted with a rueful smile just slightly embarrassed that she could ever have made such an error in judgment. Though to be fair, Ted had been gorgeous. Tall, blonde, blue-eyed... Surfer boy all around and a real charmer. Zora now saw that she had been lucky that he stood her up because she had a feeling he would never have been faithful to her, he like women too much.
Looking at Savannah as she finished her drink and ordered another, Zora couldn't help but feel like telling her about Jamie. Zora didn't have anybody actually that she could talk to about him, or anybody that wouldn't tell her that she shouldn't be going after a married man and make her into a bad person. She knew that Savannah wouldn't ever judge her for such a thing. Savannah was the live and let live type of person and never judged people for things. It was one of her overall redeeming qualities.
"Well, there is somebody…" Zora started out kind of unsure as she looked at Savannah who glanced back at her with clear interest now, but not saying anything as she encouraged Zora to go on, thinking that this must be juicy if she was confiding in her and not one of her cousins or other friends.
"I have kind of been seeing Jamie Warnock," she said lowering her voice in case there was anybody around them that might be listening.
"Jamie Warnock? The Jamie Warnock?" Savannah inquired totally surprised at what she was hearing. "You mean that handsome Slytherin guy, tall, dark and sulky, that used to lurk outside the Ravenclaw dorms and often appeared where ever you were." She asked teasingly, tickled pink at this secret.
"You too?" Zora said as she heard Savannah talk about Jamie having a thing for her in school. "Was I the only one who wasn't aware of Jamie liking me?" She asked in disbelief, not realizing that she had been that blind to something that obvious.
"Wait! Isn't he married?" Savannah asked her eyes growing wide while a look of glee crossed her face, "to that very boring Sorensen woman? Catarina?" She asked suddenly remembering who Jamie had actually married.
"Yes and yes." Zora replied as Savannah teased her and asked her some questions.
"Oh, Lord, that is pure gold." Savannah said with a laugh, thinking that this was the best news she had heard in quite a while. She hated Catarina and her sisters, and the thought that her best friend was stealing away her husband, made things awesome in her mind. She supported Zora 100% and hoped Jamie kicked Catarina's blond, arrogant ass to the curb.
"You cannot tell a soul!" Zora said very firmly and in a very serious tone to her friend.
"Oh, don't worry, I would never do that to you." Savannah said promising Zora that she not tell anybody. "Besides, who would I tell that would actually believe that you of all people, a beautiful pure blood who could have any man she wanted, has set her mind on Jamie Warnock?" Savannah stated the thought amusing her to no end.
