Background and/or back story information important to your character’s plot line:
Born Tantatia Gillifred Hubert-Bishop to a pair of progressive-hippie purebloods living in the midwest of the United States, her odd name denoted their clearly very high expectations of their child's abilities. Unfortunately for them, from birth, Taylor turned out to be a little disappointing.
By the time she was 8 or 9, it was obvious she would not be attending Ilvermony, although her parents held their breath until her 11th birthday. More disappointed than their child ever managed to be, and determined she would not end up just working as a lower class citizens for other magical persons, her parents gave her the chance to become more. If there was going to be a squib in the family, she was going to be a smart and successful one.
They sent her to normal public schools until she was 18, and Taylor took the path to a Technical School instead of college, where she became a mechanic, as well as a hobbyist electrician and welder. Realizing that her combined knowledge of muggle technology and magic was something most wizards lacked, she worked on a small scale repairing magicked objects and integrating magic with modern technology much more effectively.
However, it seemed to her that American Wizards always managed to figure out this integration a lot more easily than wizards overseas, and recognizing a business opportunity, Taylor decided to move to the United Kingdom. Changing her name to make her life easier while filling out paperwork, Taylor decided to lend her aid to the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, as well as to secretly find ways to allow muggle-born wizards to more easily use muggle objects in magic-heavy areas, something that had always caused problems in the past.
Despite her position as a squib, Taylor has shown herself to be very capable of working around both magic and technology, and frequently travels the UK to help with both in various locations. Her parents hope she will find a nice wizard who will want to settle down with her, and Taylor has never had the heart to tell them she is far more interested in witches.
